This process is opted by 80% of the recruitment companies in India.. which has made consulting more of a brokerage business. Where a management trainee or a tele caller has to finish 30 calls where she is targeting to shortlist 10 profiles to be interviewed in which 2-3 candidates will be finalized in some compromising way..
The above mention process is capturing 80% of market which is known as unorganized segment of HR Consulting and recruitment process. The Unorganized market is running by a very small scale enterprise, employee from 5 to 20, and lot many experienced HR freelancer recruiters. These consultant works for a very short term objective and treated as a broker in the Industry.
In India, Consulting business are in very initial stage and entrepreneurs feels that it as an unnecessary expenses to bear and it is also apply in HR Consulting industry where corporates involves themselves in managing more than five consultant to work for a single profile.
Its a two way thought process that is prevalent in India, as mentioned earlier consultants are looked upon as a broker by the organization while consultants treat company as a money making platform wherein they are more focused on the number of daily closures rather than the satisfaction of client and their recruitment index.
Furthermore, the market dynamics is changing and increasing global competition hence resulting in business complexity. All these changes have forced companies to realize the importance of having right employees carry out complex activities. Earlier those who have been reluctant to involve outsiders in their internal operation have now started to consider HR consultants to be their partners in their growth strategy.
Big organizations are diversifying into various sectors and need right candidate to fulfill growing business need. This makes it difficult for the internal HR function to source candidates from large and widely dispersed talent pool. Thus companies have now started to rely on HR consultant to cater their diversified requirements.
Recruitment is an activity that has impact on company’s economy and growth plans. Hence organizations prefer to impanel with consultants to help them in hiring right candidate and the internal HR function can concentrate on strategic activities like selection, planning and retention.
Now the role of consultants is not only limited to hiring rather companies have started involving them into various strategic functions. The market is now a power house of human resources, be it entrepreneur or the working population if are hired in the best way may lead the organization to different heights. Thus the quality of HR consultant is directly proportional to the growth of the organization.
